Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson remains confident Ghana can overcome a mounting injury crisis and compete strongly at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup in Poland.Seven key players have been ruled out of the tournament through injury, including captain Linda Owusu Ansah, who suffered an ACL tear while playing for the Black Queens at the 2026 Womens Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.Three goalkeepers, Asana Osman, Grace Andoh and Jenna Kayla Sarpong, are also unavailable, while forwards Mercy Attobrah and Mary Amponsah and midfielder Jessica Appiah have joined the growing casualty list.Despite the setbacks, Sampson believes the squad has enough depth to cope with the absences and expects other players to step forward when Ghana begin their World Cup campaign.Football is a collective sport. It’s not a sport, and in our team we have never been dependent on only one player and also when somebody is not available others step in, he said.So I’m very, very sure and I’m looking forward and I know that the players are pumped up and are ready.Sampson also expects those available to ensure the impact of the absences is minimised as Ghana prepare for their latest World Cup challenge.I know that others will step in and then make those who are out not to even be noticed, he added.Ghana will rely on the remaining players and potential replacements to fill crucial positions as Sampson finalises his plans for the tournament.
